What Happens The Moment After You Die

A Collection of Inspirational Poems

She's Going Home

Her children arise up and call her blessed-2.JPG (211513 bytes)

Her aging hands are folded

As she sits there in her chair.

Another day spent all alone

And no one seems to care.

The years pass by so slowly

Her heart is filled with pain.

Oh what she'd give to go back home

And see them once again.

Her name has been forgotten

The months have turned to years.

Inside she's died a hunded times

And cried a million tears.

Someone is there to see her

She quietly waits inside

He gently beckons to her

Her arms are open wide.

She wanted so to see Him

And called to Him each night.

The emptiness has disappeared

For now He holds her tight.

The nursing home is silent

No ailing voices call.

No med carts, pills or nurses

No wheelchairs in the hall.

Her aging hands are folded

The grace of God she's known

With eyes now closed in restful sleep

He comes to take her home.

Dear soul,

Time slips by for all of us.

"For what is your life?

It is even a vapor,

that appears for a little time,

then vanishes away."

( James 4:14)

Life is like that.

Just the other day we were reminded

just how short life really is

when the last leaf fell off the tree,

now all of my dad's family are gone.

Gone just like that... dear soul.

Inspite of how hard we try to hold on,

the call of God is greater.

In due time,

when we can't hold on any longer

He will call us into eternity.

Either in Heaven with God,

or in Hell without Him.

Tonight  you can have Assurance.

You can have  peace with God

as did the one in "She's Going Home."

by acknowledging that you are a sinner,

in need of His forgiveness.

Right now, wherever you are

you can bow your heart,

and commit your life to Christ.

You can begin a relationship with Him

by praying a prayer such as the following:

"O God, I am a sinner.

I am sorry for my sins.

Please forgive me.

I want to turn from my sin.

I receive Jesus Christ as my Savior;

I confess Him as my Lord.

From now on, I want to follow Him.

In Jesus's name, Amen."

If you have decided to trust Jesus Christ as your Savior

after reading this invitation,

we would love to hear from you.

A Heavenly Home

Were not home yet.JPG (320809 bytes)

A world beyond this earthly home

There dwells another place

A point beyond the moon and stars

And somewhere lost in space.

A place where heavenly angels sing

With flowing robes of white

A place amongst the rainbows

And radiant beams of light.

A place where peace and love is found

Before the throne of God

A place where splendid streets are paved

And saintly prophets trod.

A place where darkness never comes

Where everything is new

A place that glows with holy light

And shines the whole day through.

A place that has no tears to dry

There is no hurt or pain

A place for us to praise our Lord

And never die again.

A place that boasts of mansions high

Mine eyes will soon behold

A place where Jesus calls to me

And waits on streets of gold. "

Yes, Precious soul,

We're not Home yet...

This world is not our Home,

we're just passing through.

Though we give up comforts of this world

our eyes are on a better place,

a place God has prepared for His people

to enjoy the delights of Heaven.

So lift up your soul and carry on.

"We shall have all eternity in which to celebrate our victories,

but we have only one swift hour before the sunset

in which to win them."

So rest if you must, but not for long.

Just A Breath Away

Hpim1136.jpg (36625 bytes)

"Look for me in springtime

As raindrops fill the air

In the splendor of the rainbow

You'll   find my presence there.

You will find me in the fragrance

of April's sweet perfume

Drifting through the clover

On a sultry day in June.

An August day will find me

Upon the summer breeze

On the distant sound of thunder

In the gently swaying trees.

In the golden fields of harvest

Is where I can be found

As autumn time approaches

And leave comes tumbling down.

In the wintertime when days are short

And chill is in the air

Just look into a moonlit night

You'll find me lingering there.

When the setting sun has gone away

And shadows fill the night

When the cloak of darkness lifts its veil

I'll be your morning light.

So when you feel discouraged

Get on your knees and pray

You'll feel me there beside you

I'm Just a breath away."

Others May, You Cannot

Hpim1181.jpg (70024 bytes)

This poem is precious to me.

Its tatered pages, tucked in my wallet

has been a comfort for many years,

as I sought the will of God for my life.

I hope it will be a source of strength to you

as it has been to me.

Others May, You Cannot.

If God has called you to be really like Jesus

He will draw you into a life of crucifixion and humility.

God's call will put such demands of obedience on you

that you will not be able to follow other people,

or measure yourself by other Christians.

At times, He will let other people do things

which He will not let you do.

Other Christians who seem very religious

will push themselves, pull wires, and work schemes

to carry out their plans.

You cannot, and if you attempt it,

you will meet with failure and rebuke from the Lord.

Others may boast of themselves,

of their work, of their successes,

but the Holy Spirit will not allow you to do any such thing,

and if you begin it, He will lead you to despise yourself

and all your good works.

Others may be allowed to succed in making money,

or may have a legacy left to them,

but it is likely God will keep you poor.

God wants you to have something far better than gold,

namely, a helpless dependence upon Him,

that He may demostrate His faithful love for you

in supplying your needs day by day.

God may let others be honored and put forward,

and keep you hidden in obscurity

in order to produce some fragrant fruit

for His coming glory

whch can only be produced in the shade.

He may let others be great,

but keep you small.

He may let others do a work for Him

and get the credit for it now.

The reward for your work is held in the hands of Jesus

and you will not see it until He comes.

The Holy Spirit will put a strict watch over you

with a jealous love.

He will rebuke you for the little words and feelings

or for wasting your time.

So make up your mind that God is an infinite Sovereign,

and has a right to do as He pleases with His own.

He does not owe you an explanation of these mysteries.

But if you give yourself to be His child,

He will wrap you up in a jealous love

and give you the precious blessings for those who belong,

heart and soul, to Him.

Settle it forever, then,

that you are to deal directly with the Holy Spirit.

It is His option, to tie your tongue,

or chain your hand,

or close your eyes in ways

that He doees not seem to use with others.

And when you are so possessed by the living God

that your heart delights over this peculiar, personal, private,

jealous guardianship and management

of the Holy Spirit over your life,

you will have found the vestibule of Heaven.

What is your only comfort in life and death?

That I am not my own,

but belong, body and soul

,
in life and in death,

to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ.

He has fully paid for all my sins

with His precious blood,

and He has set me free from the tyranany of the devil.

He also watches over me in such a way

that not a hair can fall from my head

without the will of my Father in Heaven.

In fact, all things must work together for my salvation.

Because I belong to Him, Christ, by His Holy Spirit,

assures me of eternal life

and makes me wholeheartedly willing

and ready from now on to live for Him.

A Message From Heaven

Do not grieve for me, my dear ones

Now that I have gone away

I've only stepped quietly through the door

to the dawn of a brighter day.

If you could see the beauty

of the garden I'm walking through

If you could feel the touch of His hand,

You would want to walk here too.

If you could see the sunshine

With no dark shadows lurking near

If you could know the joy supreme,

I find with my Lord so dear.

Where pain no more can touch me.

Wherer no sorrow can ever be

You would be glad I slipped away

to this beautiful land of eternity.

I'll be waiting for you, my dear ones,

I'll be watching day by day,

And I'll ask our Father to guide you

lest you falter along the way.

So when the day is over

and the night is drawing nigh,

I pray you too, find it only a step

Where walk my precious Lord and I.

Sleep On, Beloved One

LADY BUG- HEAVY SATURATION.jpg (57847 bytes)

Sleep on, beloved, sleep, and take thy rest;

Lay down thy head upon thy Saviour's Breast;

We love thee well, but JESUS loves thee best:

Good -night!

Calm is thy slumber as an infant's sleep;

But thou shalt wake no more to toil and weep;

Thine is a perfect rest, secure and deep:

Good -night!

Until the shadows from this earth are cast,

Until He gathers in His sheaves at last,

Until the twilight gloom is overpassed,

Good-night!

Until, made beautiful by Love Divine,

Thou in the likeness of thy Lord shall shine,

And He shall bring that golden crown of thine,

Good-night!

Only " Good-night!" beloved, not "Farewell!"

A little while and all His Saints shall dwell

In hallowed union, indivisible:

Good-night!

Until we meet again before His Throne,

Clothed in the spotless robe He gives His own,

Until we know, even as we are known,

Good-night! Amen.

Journey to Heaven

Sunrays through trees.JPG (258386 bytes)

I am going on a journey

To a place I long to go

A land that's filled with angels

Where the peaceful valleys flow.

I have no need for luggage

So I plan to travel light

A  first-class trip to Heaven

It's a non-returning flight.

There won't be tears of sadness

Sweet blessings I will reap

A tourch will burn eternal

And the soul doth never sleep.

I do not need an auto

There is no bus or train

My journey is predesitned

And I won't be back again.

No need for food or shelter

Everything I need is there

My home that lies in Heaven

Is a joy beyond compare.

I am ready for my venture

God the voucher in my hand

I'm bound for Zion glory

In that far-off distand land.

I am headed for that City

My flight was paid for me

To a land of peace and beauty

Just beyond the crystal sea.

Whispers from Heaven

DSC02399.JPG (61140 bytes)

They say that life is fleeting

I know that this is true

I left this world so quickly

With no goodbye to you.

I know how much you miss me

Your tears fall ever light

The pillow where you lay your head

Is wet with them at night.

I know your heart is hurting

The words we left, unsaid

I love you's, left unspoken

Are spinning in your head.

The strength that I have carried

That served to make you whole

Remains to make you stronger

Within your grieving soul.

For you see, while you were weeping

On the day I passed away

At the gravesite near the flowers

Where my loved ones knelt to pray.

An angel came to see me

She took me by the hand

She led me to a kingdom

In a very distant land.

As I look down from  Heaven

And see you standing there

Your heart so ever burdened

With more grief than it can bear.

I long to bring you comfort

I long to give you peace

I long to hold you closely

Cause all your tears to cease.

The joy I've found in Heaven

Goes far beyond compare

The love that's so elusive

Can be found here everywhere.

The light is softly shining

There's no storm clouds here or rain

There's no teardrops found in heaven

There's no suffering, there's no pain.

You needn't be so troubled

Stay close to God and pray

That someday we'll be together

One bright and glorious day.

So my love, you shouldn't question

My dear you need not cry

I've gone to be with Jesus

I really didn't die.

My Daughter Walks With Jesus

DSC09713.JPG (101876 bytes)

The doctor's voice was heavy

His words chilled to the bone

Your little girl won't last the day

Tonight, you'll be alone.

I hurried to her bedside

Her body pale and weak \

She told me that she loved me

I kissed her tiny cheek.

My child was quickly fading

I  held her tremblling hand

She said, "you mustn't cry for me

Someday you'll understand.

Today, I dreamt of angels

Who carried me away

To the holy land of Jesus

God talked to me today."

I held her, oh, so gently

She slowly passed away

My tears continued falling

On her gown that dreadful day.

For years, I nursed my anger

Consumed by endless grief

I even hoped that I might die

To bring about relief.

In a lonely cemetary

By her grave, one wintry day

I was sadly placing flowers

And felt the urge to pray.

As I knelt beside her gravesite

I felt a breath of spring

The sky lit up with angels

What comfort did it bring.

A voice broke through the silence

It brought about release

My little daughter spoke to me

My soul was filled with peace.

Her words were sweet as honey

She said, "I didn't die

For now, I live with Jesus

So, Mommy please don't cry."

My daughter dwells in Heaven

Of that, I can be sure

For today she walks with Jesus

He's taking care of her.

Soul,

do you have the assurance of this young child?

If your child was called home tonight

will they be safe and loved

in the arms of Jesus,

assured of a place in Heaven?

If you would like that assurance tonight

you can be forgiven of your sins,

and invite Christ into your life.

Right now, wherever you are

you can bow your heart,

and commit your life to Christ.

You can begin a relationship with Him

by praying a prayer such as the following:

"O God, I am a sinner.

I am sorry for my sins.

Please forgive me.

I want to turn from my sin.

I receive Jesus Christ as my Savior;

I confess Him as my Lord.

From now on, I want to follow Him.

In Jesus's name, Amen."
