"But I don't want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
For the Lord, himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore, comfort one another with these words. " ~ 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14, 16-18
Many people wonder, "When a believer dies and goes to heaven will we recognize our loved ones in the Lord?" The Scripture is woven with the comfort that, yes, not only would we recognize our loved ones, but we will have a relationship with them in heaven.
Our family and special friends will always be our family and special friends, for the bonds of love are eternal. We can anticipate relationships with those we love and look forward to being with them in heaven.
Our relationships will be wholesome, untouched by the sin we have known on the earth. Those who God gave to us to help us through the hardships of life will be our faithful friends again. We'll laugh and reminisce, enjoying one another and welcome them into our homes.
In heaven, no one will draw us away from the Lord but would rather enhance our love towards Him. The Lord will be the central focus of our thoughts, He will be our hearts affection.
For in the resurrection, "...they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven." ~ Mark 12:25b
Although our earthly marriage will not be sustained in heaven, it will far surpass anything we have known, for it is but a shadow that would have served its purpose when believers in Christ will be married to the Lord.
"...Eye hath not seen, nor ears heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them who love Hiim." ~ 1 Corinthians 2:9

Dear soul, Do you have the assurance that when you die you will be with your loved ones in the Lord? Death for a believer is but a doorway that open up into eternal life.
The Scripture says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." ~ Romans 3:23
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." ~ Romans 10:9
Don't fall asleep without Jesus until you are assured of a place in heaven.
Tonight, if you would like to receive the gift of eternal life first you must believe in the Lord. You have to ask for your sins to be forgiven and put your trust in the Lord. There's only one way to heaven and that's through the Lord Jesus. That's God's wonderful plan of salvation.
You can begin a personal relationship with Him by praying a prayer such as the following:
"Oh God, I am a sinner. I am sorry for my sins. I want to turn from my sin. I receive Jesus Christ as my Savior; I confess Him as my Lord. From now on I want to follow Him. In Jesus' name, Amen."
