Little Children, Come Unto Me

"But Jesus
called them unto him, and said,
Suffer little
children to come unto me,
and forbid them
not;
for of such is
the kingdom of God.
...Whosoever
shall not receive the kingdom of God
as a little
child shall in no wise enter therein." (Luke 18:16&17)
And
Jesus...took a child, and set him by Him,
and said unto
them,
Whosoever shall
receive this child in My name
receiveth
Me...(Luke 9:47&48)
A precious
little child on tiptoes,
peers among the
crowd,
He hopes to
catch a glimpse of the Master.
while others
scuffs him aside.
His
helplessness catches the eye of the Master,
and bids the
child to come to Him.
The crowds
watch in unbelief,
to why he would
be the greatest.
He reaches down to set him upon His knee.
Children, so
precious to the Savior.
A gift to man
that God has given.
How trusting
are their eyes of hope.
Their faith
that they have in their fathers.
Forbid it not
that they should come, He says
of their
childlike innocence.
A child whose
hope is in the strong arms of his father
bends down, to
his helplessness.
And sets him
upon His knee.
Through the
eyes of child,
a child will
view His Father
by experiences
he's known of his own father's love.
A portrait he
captured through his lifetime.
through the
lens of the relationship he was given.
Will he come to
know his Heavenly Father
with
unconditional love...
or will he
coward behind his father's wrath
feeling
helpless...and worthless?
Will he know
Him as a friend who he can seek guidance?
or one that
towers over him in intidimation.
Will he see his
Father as a loving father,
who is gentle, and slow to anger...
or will his
hand be feared,
when his hand
is risen?
Will he grow up
to be a man of God,
with a
tenderness for Jesus...
or was his name
only spoken in slang,
in what he
heard and witnessed?
Will he grow up
with a healthy sence of self worth,
and know that
His Heavenly father loves him too...
or will he grow
up feeling undeserving of that love
and treat his wife the
same too?
What kind of fathers
and mothers are we teaching
out little children to be?
Their upbringing will
carry onto the next generation
of joy or misery.
Will our children see
God as a God of wrath
who is harsh, and swift to punishment...
or will He be a God of
love,
who is gentle and full
of compassion?
What kind of a father
will your children view
their Heavenly father
to be
is a question we shall
all ask,
while we're still raising them.
We only have our
children for a short while.
to hold them, and form them in love.
Entrusted to our care
from the hands of a loving Father.
As gifts temporary loaned to us for a while,
before releasing them.
Children so precious
to the Savior
Forbid them not to
come to him.
Woe to him who harms a child.
and takes its joy
away, by intimidation.
It would be better
that you were not born,
than to abuse a precious child.
If you would like to have a personal relationship with
Jesus Christ,
and to trust Him as your Lord and Savior.
Confess to Him your sins,
and your dependence on Him as your Savior.
Will you pray this prayer with me?

"Oh God, I am sinner. I am sorry for my sins.
Forgive me. I want to turn from my sin.
I receive Jesus Christ as my Savior;
I confess Him as my Lord.
From now on, I want to follow Him.
In Jesus' name, Amen."
