Dealing With The Effects of The War

Perhaps you have lost a loved one in the protection of our country.

Maybe it was a very close war buddy or family member.

You feel all alone, like no understands your loss.

God understands the pain that you feel, for He too suffered loss.

His own Son gave His life, dying for the sins of the world,

So that we may have liberty that is found in Jesus Christ.

Freedom was costly. It cost Him His Son, and His blood that was shed

So that we might have liberty, you and I.

In losing someone, you start to realize how short life is for many good people.

Maybe you consider suicide, as a way out,

in attempt to deal with your pain of such loss.

Flashbacks torment many soldiers,

reliving many of the experiences that they had in war.

Know that you are not alone.

Many post veterans are faced with the traumatic scenes

played over and over in their lives.

Post traumatic stress syndrome is a very real condition

that inflicts many soldiers who have gone through

what you’ve been through.

We've been told that for every soldier who died,

2 committed suicide when they got back home.

Life is not fair and many times I question the true meaning of life and how it works.

I did not lose any close people in the protection of our country,

I don’t know quite how you may feel,

but what I do know is that only Jesus Christ can give you peace.

A peace that can take away any hatred you may have

and some the sadness that comes with losing a loved one.

God lost a close one to him also, Jesus Christ,

so he understands the sadness of losing someone close to Him.

I may not know just how it feels to lose one in battle,

But one thing that I do know is that God can give you peace,

That peace that passes all understanding.

If you want that peace that comes in knowing Jesus,

then please pray this prayer with all your heart.

Dear God, I admit I am a sinner, going to hell.

I know that I cannot save myself.

I repent of my sins and put my faith in the blood

that you shed for me on the cross to pay for all my sins.

I now accept you as my Savior,

and trust you to take me to Heaven.

Thank you for saving me, amen.

If you prayed that prayer with all of your heart,

then congratulations, you are now in the family of God!

To help grow in your life journey,

attend a church regularly and read your Bible.

It will be a source of comfort and encouragement through these troubling times.
