This invitation is open to you.
To those who hurt and harbor bitterness,
I speak especially to you tonight.
We live in a time of quiet desperation.
Broken homes and promises are a familiar cord
that transcends through many of our
lives.
Many teens are searching for someone or
something
to fill the emptiness that they feel inside.
Many turn to sex, to drugs or alcohol
to numb their pain.
Others
contemplate suicide,
or turn to "cutting"
to release some of the hurt.
You are too precious! dear soul.
How it must grieve the Father's heart
as He suffers along with you.
The Lord
has plans for you...
Plans to prosper you and not harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.
Many have heard the message of a "Father's
Love"
but never experienced a father's love as to relate it to,
so its message falls on deaf ears, and soon it is forgotten.
Many teens wonder why their parent walked out on
them.
They feel abandoned and somehow at fault.
Let
me in on you a secret dear friend,
"It was never your fault...
nor will it ever be."
Adult issues are adult issues
that young shoulders were never meant to
bear.
Tonight, I want you to know that you are
loved.
Quietly loved in Jesus.
His heart aches with compassion
as He suffers along with you.
Many teens feel mad at God.
They are angry at Him because
life dealt them a rough hand.
Tonight, I urge you to give it to God.
Give Him all your hurts...
your anger and bitterness
that you've been harbouring onto so long!
Release them tonight, dear soul.
Visualize as I did, a helium balloon
ascending into the air,
until your hurts get smaller and smaller
the closer it gets to God.
The Lord understands your feelings.
You're not alone in your thoughts.
For
He was a man of sorrows and aquainted with grief.
He was tempted in all area of life as you
are, yet without sin,
so that He could carry your sins to the
cross
and remove from you its shame and its guilt.
The Scriptures says to be filled with hate is to
commit murder.
Murder in our hearts.
Have
you been guilty of murder, dear friend?
Then confess it to God.
Many of you are struggling with lustful thoughts.
You're entangled in the web of
pornography
and don't know your way out.
How it grieves the Father's heart
as He watches it along with you.
Confess
your thoughts, dear soul.
The Scriptures says,
"that to look lustfully at a woman
is to commit adultry.
Adultry in your heart. (Matthew 5:28)
Have you been guilty of adultry?
Then
confess it to God.
I'm not trying to give you a verbal lashing
to add to your already wounded
heart.
The scriptures says,
...in breaking one commandment you have
broken them all.
We have all broken God's commandments.
You have, and so have I.
God
is not willing that any should perish.
He provided a way of escape through the
shed blood of His Son,
so that we may have forgiveness of our sins.
Only when we realize the awfulness of our
sin against God,
can we accept the Lord Jesus Christ as full payment of our sin
and spend eternity with Him in Heaven.
Tonight,
you too can make peace with God.
You can begin a relationship with Him
by praying a prayer such as the
following:
"Dear
Lord, I am a sinner.
I've
been a sinner all of my life.
Forgive
me Lord.
Don't
cast me away from your presence!
Thank
You for dying on the cross
in
payment of my sins.
I
ask You to come into my life,
and
accept You as my personal Savior.
Help
me to turn from my sins and live for You.
In
Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
We'll leave the light on for you...
If you have prayed to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior
after reading this
invitation, please let us know.
We would love to hear from you. (Your first
name is sufficient)
