A Call to Duty
We
would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude
to
all our service men and women, who give their lives
to
defend our country.
Your
loyalty and sacrifice is deeply appreciated,
although
not acknowledged often enough.
We
pray for your safe return.
"Greater
love hath no man than this,
that
a man lay down his life for his friends."
~ John 15:13

Yet
the greatest battle ever won happened over 2000 years ago
when
God sent His precious Son, the Lord Jesus Christ,
to
die in the battle for the souls of men.
"For
God so loved the world
that
He gave His only begotten Son,
that
whosoever believeth in Him
should
not perish,
but
have everlasting life."
~ John 3:16
Although
it grieved His heart to do it, there was no other way.
Love
for mankind drove God to put His Son to death
for
the payment of our sins.
"...He
was wounded for our transgressions,
He
was bruised for our iniquities:
the
chastisement of our peace was upon Him;
and
with His stripes we are healed."
~ Isaiah 53:5
Darkness
covered over the earth. Even the sun stopped shining.
The
suffering of His Son touched the Father's heart
when
in anguish, Jesus cried out to Him,
"My
God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me!"
and
then said, "It is finished!" and gave up the ghost.
Satan
thought he conquered Him, now that Jesus was dead.
They
wrapped His body in a fine linen, and placed Him a tomb.
But
three days later, Jesus Christ arose from the grave!
The
battle now was over!
Jesus
won victoriously
in
the battle for the souls of men!

Dear
Soul,
God
loves you incredibly.
Enough
to suffer the agony of the cross.
He
could have sent a legion of angels to rescue Him,
but
He didn't.
Love
nailed Him there dying for the souls of men.
The
Lord desires to have a relationship with you,
yet
He will not enforce His love upon anyone
who
will not receive Him as their Savior.
Only
when we realize the awfulness of our sin against God
and
feel its deep sorrow in our hearts
can
we turn from the sin we once loved,
and
have a relationship with Him in heaven.
The
Scripture says,
"For
the wages of sin is death;
but
the gift of God is eternal life
through
Jesus Christ our Lord."
~ Romans 6:12
"That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and
shalt believe in thine heart
that
God hath raised Him from the dead,
thou
shalt be saved."
~
Romans 10:9
If you would like to receive the gift of eternal life
first you must believe in the Lord.
You have to ask for your sins to be forgiven
and place your trust in Him.
There's only one way to heaven and that's through the Lord.
That's God's wonderful plan of salvation.
You can begin a personal relationship with Him
by praying a prayer such as the following:
"Dear
Lord, I am sinner.
I
am sorry for my sins.
I
want to turn from my sin.
I
receive Jesus Christ as my Savior;
I
confess Him as my Lord.
From
now on I want to follow Him.
In
Jesus' name, Amen."
If
you have received the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior
after
reading this invitation, please let us know.
We
would love to hear from you. Your first name is sufficient.
We'll
leave the light on for you...
